Radio patrol has been notified through the police department that two burglary crews have been working in precincts 2, 6, 8, and 12, which includes University District. If you see any indication of a crew working here, please call 9-1-1 and mention that it might be connected to an alert from Captain Bowser in the 8th Precinct.
What to Watch for:
Who:
- Crew 1: Occupied homes with no one home. Generally a 3-4 person crew: driver, lookout, 1-2 entry people.
- Crew 2: Homes with renovation underway or buildings in transition.
When: Typically daylight hours, Monday – Friday.
What: Cash, guns, jewelry, furnaces, water heaters, appliances, etc.
How: Careful, repeated checking to be certain no one is home, entry from back, sometimes vehicles parked a block away or around the corner.
